Free PDF Manipulation Tool – Merge, Split, Convert & Edit PDFs Online

How-To-Use the PDF Manipulation Tool

Overview

The PDF Tools suite provides multiple utilities for working with PDF documents in one place. You can convert PDF pages into images, merge multiple PDFs into a single document, split PDFs into smaller files, add customizable text watermarks, and create password-protected PDF documents with configurable permissions.

Convert PDF to Images

Select the Convert PDF tab and upload a PDF document. The tool automatically converts each page into a high-quality image. Once the conversion is complete, preview the generated images and click Download All to save every page at once.

Merge Multiple PDFs

Open the Merge PDFs tab and select two or more PDF files. The selected documents will appear in the file list. After confirming the files, click Merge PDFs to combine them into a single PDF while preserving the page order.

Split a PDF

The Split PDF feature offers three different splitting methods:

  • By Page Range – Extract specific pages using ranges such as 1-5, 8, or 10-15.
  • By File Size – Divide a PDF into smaller files based on a maximum file size in megabytes.
  • Split into Parts – Automatically divide the document into a specified number of equal sections.

Choose your preferred method, configure the options, then click Split PDF to generate the new documents.

Add a Watermark

Select the Watermark PDF tab to add custom text to every page of a PDF document. You can fully customize the watermark by changing:

  • Watermark text
  • Text color
  • Font size
  • Font weight
  • Opacity
  • Placement (Top, Bottom, Left, Right, Middle, or Diagonal)

After configuring the watermark, click Watermark PDF to generate the protected document.

Create a PDF Document

The Create PDF tab includes a rich text editor for creating documents from scratch. Enter your content, apply formatting, then optionally secure the document by adding a password and selecting document permissions before generating the PDF.

PDF Security & Permissions

When creating a PDF, you can optionally protect it with a password and control what recipients are allowed to do. Available permissions include:

  • Printing
  • Copying text
  • Editing content
  • Adding annotations
  • Form filling
  • Accessibility access
  • Document assembly

Disable any permission you wish to restrict before creating the final document.

Tips for Best Results

Organize Files Before Merging

Ensure your PDFs are arranged in the desired order before merging, as the merged document follows the selected file sequence.

Use Appropriate Split Options

If you only need a few pages, use page ranges. For sharing large documents, splitting by file size or number of parts is often more convenient.

Choose Readable Watermarks

For professional documents, use moderate opacity and a diagonal or centered watermark so it remains visible without obscuring the document content.

Remember Your Password

If you password-protect a PDF, keep the password in a secure location. Without it, opening or modifying the document may not be possible.

Troubleshooting

PDF Won't Upload

Verify that the selected file is a valid PDF document and is not corrupted. Try opening it in a PDF reader to confirm it can be read.

Merge Failed

Ensure all selected files are PDF documents and are not password-protected or damaged. Remove any problematic file and try again.

Split Results Are Incorrect

Double-check your page ranges for formatting errors. Separate multiple ranges with commas, for example 1-3, 6, 9-12.

Watermark Doesn't Look Right

Adjust the font size, opacity, or position. Very large text or high opacity may cover important document content.

Created PDF Can't Be Edited

Review the selected permissions before creating the document. If editing permission was disabled, create a new PDF with editing enabled.

Download Doesn't Start

Wait until processing has completely finished before downloading. Refresh the page and try again if the operation appears to have stalled.
